👋 Hi, I’m Joy Liu — Software Engineer

I’m a software engineer based in Taipei, currently serving as a Senior Software Engineering Officer at the Office of the Deputy Chief of the General Staff for Communications, Electronics and Information (ODCGS/CEI), General Staff Headquarters, Ministry of National Defense, where I build geospatial data-visualization and command-display tooling (a TypeScript/Leaflet.js Power BI custom visual and a real-time web display). Before this, across three years in the ROC Air Force’s communications branch, I coordinated the delivery of 20+ enterprise MIS systems serving 30,000+ users at 99.9% availability — bridging vendors and internal systems and gatekeeping code quality and performance.

I recently completed my M.S. in National Defense Cybersecurity Management at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (College of Computer Science), where my thesis explored offline-deployed LLM systems combining RAG, function calling, and intelligent routing for high-security environments.

In parallel, I designed, built, and operate a generative-AI SaaS platform (Django + React + Claude API) end-to-end — covering payment integration, OAuth, multi-service container deployment, and CI/CD on Azure.

I’ll be transitioning out of the military in March 2027, and I’m looking for software engineer roles — particularly interested in enterprise software and applied AI.

What Drives Me

I enjoy building systems that real people use, especially when they sit at the intersection of enterprise engineering and applied AI. My day-to-day swings between writing C# for legacy MIS modernization and shipping Python/TypeScript code for my SaaS — and I like that span.

Outside of work I read, play the piano, and occasionally write technical posts about whatever I just shipped.
